Recently, we have worked with manufacturing company that at the time had 30 employees called Erozimat on introducing time tracking system into their company. Working closely with the management of the company on this, we were impressed to see how quickly and efficiently a time tracking system can be implemented in a manufacturing company. This post is about our learnings.
Decision to implement the time tracking system comes from the management. After the realization of how much efficiently a company can operate with time tracking system, management played a key role in implementing the system. Usually, realization of this comes when the company is investing a lot of time and effort into manual time tracking. However, implementing time tracking early on in a company, while it has smaller number of employees, gives huge advantage that sets the company up for success and fast growth. This is exactly what Erozimat did.
In Erozimat, the management implemented the time tracking system with ease in four simple steps:
- Register for time tracking solution (30 seconds)
- Print out the cards (30 seconds)
- Notify employees about the change and hand out the cards (15-minute meeting)
- Put the check out device at the entry (5 minutes)
Simple and efficient. Given the number of people, a 15-minute meeting was held, so effectively it took them 21 minutes to implement the solution completely. Reason behind it, is their choice of the solution. They picked WorkIgniter, which enabled them to go through this transition without even noticing the change. WorkIgniter fits transparently into your day, so 3 days after implementing it, you don’t even notice it anymore.
Once you fill in your email, whole process is driven from WorkIgniter side, we collect your employees’ information and setup the full solution. You just need to select an Android device and mount it at the entrance.
WorkIgniter provides a simple way to print out cards that can be used to clock in/out by checking the card on the device at the entrance. After cards are ready the talk about the change comes.
Discussion about the change can be a challenge, but with WorkIgniter everybody wins because it provides full transparency into time sheets. Both the employees and the management can easily review timesheets removing all doubts upfront.
Mounting the device was done easily. Erozimat has a corridor after entrance and the device was screwed to wood that’s stands on the table leaned on the wall in the corridor, so no wholes in the wall were needed.
Tomorrow, all employees had their cards and started clocking in when they came to work. Some did forget to clock in, but after a quick look, few employees were reminded. Day after, few more employees needed reminding. On the third day, we got a call from Erozimat management, who joked about how they feel they had the system for years.
